Well its that time of year again! On November 7, 2010, my family and I will be participating in the Walk/Run for The James Fund. We have chosen to support The James Fund because our own son James was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was not quite two years old. James underwent multiple surgeries to remove a large tumor that had surrounded his spinal cord and grown into his chest. Eight months later the tumor had grown back and since it didn’t respond to chemotherapy James underwent another surgery to remove as much of the disease as possible. There is still a small tumor in James’ back however thankfully there has been no change in its size in over a year. He is a happy and very active 4 year old who never ceases to amaze us, both with his strength and his bravery. Our James is one of the lucky ones. The majority of the children diagnosed with neuroblastoma are not as lucky. This dreadful cancer has now been deemed the leading cause of death by disease in children. By pledging us in this wonderful event you will be supporting the world class neuroblastoma research being funded by The James Fund at SickKids, and around the world. Last year with your help we raised just over $15,000 with the event raising over $45,000! Click here to go to our sponsor page. Thank you for helping to save children from this most cruel of childhood cancers. Your support is appreciated more than you will ever know. Cheers, Brad Walst 3DG
